Macy's new trick...

Gabe has this routine he does with Macy every day. It's called "The Snort Monster." She loves it, and smiles and laughs and squeals whenever he makes the noise and tells her, "The Snort Monster is here!!!" The last few days when he holds her and isn't looking, she literally eats his nose! I laugh so hard every time while Gabe says, "She's gumming my nose! Help me!"

Aww. True love. :)

Gerry and Jan!

This is my Dad's brother, Gerald's family picture from Christmas this year. Gerald and Jan have two daughters, my cousins, Crystal and Kara Van Kooten! (Kara is on the left, Crystal on the right). I love this family! They are so much fun, and we always laugh and have great chats when they are visiting. These are our most schooled and educated family members. :) They are incredibly smart, all of them. Gerald is a life-long geologist and now teaches Geology at Calvin College, Jan is a musical genius. Crystal is getting her PhD, & Kara is a Physical Therapist.
In case you've never seen them all, this is my Dad with his three brothers and Mom. The birth order goes: Jerry, Gerald, Dad then Craig.

Gerald and Jan are visiting on their way to Alaska for the summer and wanted to see Macy so Katie went with us for a little visit and I snapped some pictures. She was pretty much in love with Jan... :)

Macy loves Grandma Van Kooten. I think it's mutual. :) They played together and laughed together and Macy had a good nap after this visit. She loves people!

Macy's new buddy...

My friend Kara gave me these hilarious bug puppets for a baby shower and Macy LOVES them!!! They were at Costco along with some other animals and I should have bought them all! She holds onto this grasshopper especially and was watching me make dinner last night just like this for about 15 min straight! Grasshopper and fingers=a happy, patient Macy!

She looks worried, here, huh? She ate her dinner about 5 mins after I took this! Love that she is so content with her buddy... :)

Katie's Home!

Hooray! Auntie Kate came home last night from Prague and London with presents for all of us. :) Macy got an adorable dress and this sun hat from H&M the coolest store ever, which Katie just discovered (dangerously) has a baby section! Ha! Kates was only gone a week or two but we missed her terribly.
A new Mommy and Macy pic :) Life doesn't get any sweeter...
After church today Mom hosted a late birthday celebration for my Aunt Sharon. It was a delicious lunch and wonderful fellowship. Thanks Mom!

Saturday Dress-Up Day

Love the toes pointing in... She loves her toes right now!

The Molly Dress

I feel like the last few days we have been running ragged! Macy has a little cold, or allergies, or something that is making her have a runny nose, so I've been stressing about that, along with regular life. Today she seems a little better, still runny nose and not quite her usual self but better. We are staying home all day today! I'm still in my PJ's but Macy has been in 5 outfits so far. Yep, today was the day we played dress-up with all my old baby clothes Mom gave me. The ones she kept are just precious! This pic above is my "Molly Dress" from Money Maberry who also had a daughter named Molly! It is so cute! Probably almost 50 years old, can you imagine? Here I am below at 6 months... Any resemblance at all?

Baby Books

I am determined to complete Macy's baby book, every page, every question! It seems like a full-time job to keep up on this goal. Every time I turn around she is one month older and I need to update the book!

Today I was working on it, made huge progress, and came to the page that asked for a letter from Mommy. I started to write one and then couldn't swallow I had such a lump in my throat from all the overwhelming love that was pouring out of my heart! Words can't express how much I love our baby girl and my hopes and prayers for her life.

A good friend from church, Bev McKissick died yesterday leaving her husband and 4 children behind. Her kids are grown-ups now, but it made me think of what she would wish/pray/hope for them and her grandchildren and I know it's that above and beyond all else, they find, know and love & adore our Lord and Savior no matter what. This is something I pray for Macy as well.
