Our second day at the Fair 2010

Bryce brought his girlfriend, Heidi home for a visit and our entire family decided to go to the fair, and stay for the Casting Crowns concert. We had a ball!

It was love at first sight for Heidi and Macy. :) Here they are in the petting zoo...
All the girls. Bryce, Dad and Gabe are getting pretty outnumbered! I was walking through the fair thinking about how our family has grown. Keeping track of 5 people is a lot easier than 7 and a baby! It's a good thing we're growing, Heidi is awesome.
Bryce and Heids having a milking contest...

Bryce won, but I love this picture of Heidi. Doesn't she look like a farm girl?

I have said from the start I'm not a big sugar fan. For Macy, that is. I want to feed her healthy food and teach her good eating habits. Unfortunately, the men in my life think it's hilarious to feed her crap. At the fair, I gave in a little. Gabe thought it was so funny to watch Macy with her first ever Moowich. It was pretty cute.

And... she loved it.

Our whole family in a picture! We watched the horse show, and then Katie went with me to bring Macy to my Aunt Sharon's house so we could all go to the concert baby-free. When we got back to the fair we had to park a mile away and were racing back since Mom had gotten us fair burgers!!! Dinner was soooo delicious and then it was off to ride the ferris wheel!

Katie passed on this ride since she is afraid of heights, but the rest of "the kids" went. Mom and Dad came by for a few minutes and then went to grab our seats at the concert.

Heidi and Bryce on the ferris wheel.

Next up was the concert, which was AWESOME, and we all loved it. These pics were all off my mom's camera and they capture the feeling that night pretty great. Enjoy...we did!

These last two were taken during "Lifesong." It's kind of my cousin Heidi's anthem and we all promised to sing our heart out for her since she couldn't be there!!!! Here are the lyrics...

"Lifesong"

Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You

Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet

So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You

Macy's first day at the fair...

Gabe found out the other day he gets 3 days off in a row!!!! I think I was happiest about this news, and have throughly enjoyed having him home! We didn't do too much yesterday, I brought Macy on a super fun playdate with two other moms and a bunch of kiddos we know from MOPS (and church), and then went out to dinner with my Dad last night. Gabe asked what I wanted to do today and I said FAIR ME! :) We got there at 9:00 AM ready to see it all! We started with the chickens and this is pretty much what Macy's face looked like the entire time she was around any animal.
Until we got to the cows, that is. She really liked those cows. :) So sweet, love this pic Gabe took of us. Poor girl didn't know what to do in this weather! I had her in a tank and shorts and quickly piled on a hat, sweater, pants... it was freezing outside today! Kind of nice for a change, but even I got chilly by the time we left!
Even though we had the stroller Gabe held her most of the day. She really loved seeing everything!

Gabe's favorite llama. It had a puff face!

The fair always reminds me of my Grandpa Dale. He used to work this week along with Grandma and we would always see him, but what I really remember is the way Grandpa would eat his way across the whole fair! He introduced my brother, sister and I to Elephant Ears, Puffigins (the Dutch yummies that I can't spell) and would always buy us some kind of treat when we were with him. He loved fair food. I never remember my Grandpa complaining about the prices or the calories. He just loved to eat that delicious food and would get so excited about it! I miss him, and I'll always think about him when I walk by that elephant ear stand.

Here's my man buying us an Elephant Ear. :)

My Grandma still works at the fair every year. She says she works one week a year and this is it! She gave Macy a darling little panda bear (you can see it on her lap) on our way out and Macy played with it the whole way home.

We love you Grandma! So good to see you today!

Bryce, Heidi (his gf), Katie, Dad, Mom, Gabe, Macy and I AKA: THE WHOLE FAMILY will go to the fair together tomorrow so stay tuned for LOTS more photos and fun. This was our preview day for just the 3 of us, tomorrow...craziness! I think we'll try the carousal, face painting, a henna tattoo (for my mom of course)... the possibilities are endless. :)

Dress up day in August...

Macy and I braved Costco today. I tell you, I think every month of her life, our Costco bill goes up another $30.00. What do people do that don't plan for kids??? Yikes! They are expensive! I say that now, I know, it's only going to get worse.

Macy is DONE nursing. She quit officially on Heather's wedding, 8-9-10 so it's been a week and we are both doing wonderfully Hooter Hider Free. Macy gained a POUND the first week off breast milk and is eating about 5 bottles a day with pureed or table food twice a day. Except the past 3 days, that is, when she's up in the middle of the night for a full bottle. I know she's growing, and today had a chance to try on a couple things I've been wondering about.

First, a Halloween costume from the triplets!!! They were all penguins last year, and Heidi gave me a costume and it was soooo cute on Macy! I was cracking up! She wouldn't keep on the whole thing, but the bow tie was the cutest thing ever. I don't think it's going to fit in October!!! She thought she was hot stuff rolling around in that thing all padded in.

It wasn't long before I realized it was ROASTING hot upstairs and I was probably suffocating my baby so next...

SHOES!!!! Macy has the cutest shoes that have been patiently waiting for her feet to grow so she can finally wear them. Go figure the sweetest pair of fur-lined moccasins fit perfect today and it's fair week and probably will be in the 80's for another week or two. Bring on fall! We got shoes to break out!!!
Love this pair that fit perfect from Anna-Banana Pimento. Macy LOVED them too, and kept rolling around, posing, like she knew they were new!

I love quiet afternoons when I have time to sort and organize and find new treasures in Macy's closet for her to start wearing. Girl clothes are so much fun! I know she likes it too, she is always happy when her closet doors are open. :) Hope you are all finding something fun to do today too!

An afternoon at Hi Hoe Nursery...

I heard a rumor that my Aunt Sharon had taken Luke and Abbie home with her for a long weekend so I packed up Macy and went for a visit. It was in the 90's this day, and we all ended up in the pool after not too long!!!
Macy loves her "cousins." They are 2nd cousins to Macy, in reality, but we call them cousins since it's the closest she's going to have any time soon!!!

Luke is such a fun boy. He is VERY into superheroes right now, and gadgets. He was taking pictures with my camera and I asked him to play a game. When I said a word, he had to act out what it meant on his face. It was hilarious!!!! I don't think 4 year olds know all the words I used but here are a few of my favorites.
Surprised.
Scared.
Happy.

Did that make you laugh? I still crack up looking at these!!!! We're going to Wenatchee in a couple days for a family reunion and I'll try and play again and see if he's improved! Ha!
Janelle, Craig's niece, was visiting and Luke wanted to get a shot of the girls... Not bad, huh?
Had to get these suspenders in a picture. Craig gave them to Luke a long time ago. They say, "Grandpa's Helper." Luke put them on Abbie!
Abbie still LOVES baby Macy. She even says Macy now, although it sounds a little like, "Mayme."
After ice cream cones it was off to the pool!
