Wednesday, February 16

At Bible Study this morning, Auntie Kate gave Macy yet another present. Katie SHOWERS us with stuff all year long, she loves giving presents and is incredibly generous. Macy gets a present nearly every time we see her. Dangerous when she's in town for a month. :) Today's latest was pom poms and Macy christened them while watching Glee, and really got them shaking during the cover of Justin Beiber's "Baby Baby" song. She was ROCKING!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last night Gabe and I both caught Macy's cold. ICK! Gabe is on nights, so we all laid very low today. The highlight was when Auntie Kate came over to hang out with Macy while we went to our yearly tax appointment. (How romantic, right?) She came with this darling bear for Macy and candy for Gabe and I. Love that girl, she knows how to brighten up a room, that's for sure!
Gabe and I grabbed the mail on our way back home and there was a card for Macy from Great-Grandma Van Kooten in there. It was a Valentine's Day card just for Macy with a very sweet and special message...and...$FIVE DOLLARS$! It was such a sweet day I had to pose her with her loot and capture the feeling.

Macy and I ran a couple errands later today and I had the best feeling in Rite Aid watching all the men buying last minute gifts, flowers, balloons, candy for their loves. I drove past Haggen and saw at least 5 more men with arms loaded down in the parking lot full of goodies. I love Valentine's Day. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

My Dad is back home!

My Dad has been traveling a lot lately. First Kentucky for a week of his doctorate study program, then home for a few days and off to Indiana with a group from church for NANC certification! Macy has been sick recently with a cold/cough and we stayed home from church so she could have normal naps yesterday. We went over to Dad and Mom's in the afternoon so she could reconnect with her Grandpa :) and he had bought her an early Valentine's Day present. Another purse! This time, there was $FIVE DOLLARS$ in it! I said, "Wow for inflation, last year it was $1!" :)
Dad pretty much played with Macy the whole day. When he wasn't, Auntie Kate or my Mom were. No wonder she sleeps so good on Sunday nights! This day Macy found her Auntie Kate's boots and would cry if she couldn't hold them or wear them. She was so proud "walking" around in these babies...they were as big as she was!

I don't think this has ever happened. This little girl doesn't EVER lay down next to you! She obviously wasn't 100% to do this, and it lasted less than a minute, but it was so cute!

Our Fairy "Hat" Friend...

Catira Dahm and I graduated from high school together. We reconnected when I was first pregnant with Macy to plan our 10 year reunion and have stayed in touch. Catira makes adorable hats!!! She came over the other day for a visit and brought Macy a new little bear hat that I think is adorable. Find her on facebook if you are interested in getting one! She does monkeys, monsters, school spirit, super cute baby boy and girl everything. Thanks Catira!

Laughing with Katie...

Yesterday Katie and I went on a date. It's been at least a month since we had time together, without Macy around to chat! We went out to lunch, did several errands, went shopping, and then decided to hit McDonalds for a LARGE cone. Yeah. It's been awhile since I've got one of these, but I pulled over after the drive through to take a picture since it was the most pathetic "large" I've ever seen! It was a dollop of ice cream on a cone!!!! 3 bites people! Guess the golden arches are feeling the recession too, huh?

Gabe has been home on his week off (minus a day of overtime already) which has been AWESOME. We have had lots of laughs with Macy and he gives me time to get stuff done that I usually can't get to since she's with me all the time! Case in point. Last night I had the chance to do a shoe swap since a couple pairs are too small. I tried these beauties on and they finally fit! Baby purple crocs!!!!! Micaela Pimento picked them out for Macy before she was even born. :) I LOVE them! Macy did too, let me tell you. She grinned and danced, and stomped her feet... she KNEW she was wearing new shoes and she rocked them!
They are TINY! Size 4, and about as long as a baby toothbrush. :)

Today Macy wore the dress her Auntie Kate bought her for Valentine's Day. I said she will wear it all week. :) Sorry about the same pose with the camera case, it's a sure smile every time! I'm hopefully getting her 1 year pictures back this week and we got some awesome ones so stay tuned for updates!
Today after Bible Study we got a treat. Wayne and Wyatt Silves came over for a playdate! Weston had an appointment right by our house so Tanya dropped the other boys off to play with Macy. We had a BLAST! I've forgotten how fun it is to have kids around who can walk AND talk. :) (It doesn't take much for Wayne to impress me). Wayne is a 4-year-old, darling, polite, hilarious boy who loves everyone and everything. He eats anything, will go anywhere, laughs all the time and is SO good with little kids. I really enjoyed him. He was pulling Macy in this wagon in the house and asked me to move the toys so he could really pull her (those of you who know our living-toy room know there is no room with or without toys to pull this wagon!) and I asked if he wanted to go to our park instead? He was so excited...so, we dressed Wyatt up in Macy's hat and brown boots, buckled and bundled the babies and we were off!
It felt so good to see the sun! It was crisp but nice out and I love that kids are like moles these days since we haven't had sun in so long. Look at Wayne! )Don't judge Wyatt in the leopard hat with the pink bow, it really is the most boy-ish hat we had). :)
Wayne checking out our neighborhood "park."
He got tired there for a minute and I said, "Well, you better hop in the wagon!" Macy thinks Wayne is her dream come true. Every time she sees him she just stares and smiles. Look how precious Wyatt looks.
Love these ones.

Just another Sunday

Macy and I headed over to Mom and Dad's after church Sunday for dinner and a visit from Macy's Great-Grandpa Boyd.

I think Macy has my Mom's smile. :) So cute.

Looking for Brodie after she walked away!!!!

Gabe got home from work at 7 PM and I was checking e-mails, blogs and got a bee in my bonnet to go get some deals from Rite Aid. I left at 8:30 PM (a first for me, we hunker down around here at 7 PM!) and SCORED! Along with great deals on what is pictured, I got 6, 1.5 quarts of Dreyer's ice cream (not for me, for the guys at Gabe's work for the next 2 months!). I paid $18 out of pocket for the ice cream, and then,...got $17 back in UP rewards to use as store credit on my next purchase at Rite Aid!!!!! Everything, when you count the UP rewards pictured and the ice cream cost me... $22.00. (7 peanut butter, 2 chex mix, 6 pringles, 4 toothpaste, 4 packs of razors, 6 things of Dreyer's ice cream). What a night!!!!

Playing at home these days...

A few days ago I pulled out this very fun zoo-keeper's set from my parents for Macy. It was a birthday gift, but we were so overwhelmed from Christmas, I put a couple things away until all her new stuff became "old." She loves biting the animals and trying different stuff in the lion's den. Super fun, thanks Mom and Dad!

Macy is still obsessed with her wagon and brings new toys into it each day. This day she gathered up all the measuring spoons and climbed in and out for a good 30 minutes. I LOVE this wagon, we've lost track of the hours she has spent in it!!!!
I thought this was some serious talent. Three spoons while balancing? :)

For once, a picture that I thought Macy looked like me!!!!!
