Just went downstairs and found my husband and daughter together watching tv. I had to grab the camera and just at the last second Macy looked at me...sort-of. She was literally in the exact position as Gabe before she turned. So funny! They are both the cutest. :)

Gabe's Mini-Me

A thought for today
So yesterday I had to bring Macy to the Dr for her 2 month check and she had to get 3 shots. I was dreading this appointment for days and nervous the whole night before. I've always heard Mom's know their baby's cry really early on and what each one means, but I've never believed it! Not until I became a mom, that is, and am around this baby all the time. I've learned it's true! Baby's do have different cries and you DO know what each one means! Amazing! All that to say, I've only heard Macy's PAIN cry twice and one of those times was at her last Dr appointment when she got her first shot. I burst into tears and realized something: I am a parent! :)
My friend Tanya was baptized Sunday and said something truly inspiring when asked who Christ was to her. She said for her, Jesus is the perfect example of a truly sacrificial parent. Made me think about how badly it hurts me to see a lightning quick shot given to my daughter, and how I would take that pain FOR her if there was any way I could. I cannot imagine the pain our Heavenly Father felt watching his son get crucified for a world of sinners like me. I could never do it. I can't stand one (or three) little pinches given to my child. Can you imagine the helpless frustration? I've never understood my Lord's love for me quite this clearly, and it makes me weepy.
All that to say, praise the Lord for those of you who were praying for me (and Macy) yesterday at 2:30! The nurse was wonderful, and lightning fast, and although Macy did scream and I know she was hurting, I nursed her right away and she was only a little fussy yesterday and almost 100% today!
And thanks, Tanya, for the perspective Sunday- I was so encouraged by you!
Shrute
Gabe and I are HUGE fans of the TV show, The Office. It's probably my all-time favorite because it makes me laugh out loud at least once every episode. If you haven't watched it, and have a good sense of humor, you should! There's one guy on the show named Dwight Shrute that is hysterical so when we got two baby kittens almost two years ago, Gabe names one Dwight and the other Shrute.

It has been quite the day! SPOILER ALERT!
A break-in (see below), a blow-out (see below), a birthday check-up (2 months today) and the BACHELOR finale! I am such a dork. So first of all, how Macy measures up:
Weight: Birth 8 lbs 7 oz, now 9 lbs 14 oz- 30th percentile
Height: Birth 20 1/2 in, now 22 1/2 in- 53rd percentile and
Head Circumference: 75th percentile.
Bottom line, we have a long, lean genius baby girl on our hands. :) I say bless her if she doesn't have a life-long weight problem!!!! :)
So... The Bachelor. My friend Lynn Gustafson (long story, we're not related, rather connected by lots of similar friends, family, people and interests. We became friends off facebook of all things and I really, really like her- she is super fun, loves all the same things as me and is so sweet with Macy) came over tonight in sweats bearing ice cream (the best kind of friend, really) and we discussed important things such as Gymboree sales and the Bachelor! To her credit, Lynn hasn't been watching this season and to my credit, I wouldn't be if I wouldn't have been breast feeding at all hours of the night when it started and I needed shows to fill up my DVR!!! Anyways, I had to grab the flip cam when "On the Wings of Love" started playing at the end of the finale----such a cheesy show but I have to say I loved that touch. Hysterical. So, if you haven't seen it and want to be surprised, don't watch the video! But if you want a laugh and loud dose of "Molly" play away. :) Poor Macy!
Uh oh...
I just heard Macy cry and figured it was a wet diaper since I'd just fed her and she was playing on the bed so I go to change her there on the bed and realized as I unsnapped her darling outfit there was poop coming out both sides of the diaper, covering her entire belly, onesie, and outfit seeping through onto me!!!!! I'm committed here, on the bed, have already undone the outfit so I start in on the wipes. Mind you, these are the Walmart wipes that Gabe found are the cheapest (we found later they are cheapest because they are CRAP and don't "wipe" anything, more that they just smear the poop around until you use at least three per diaper change). We have a couple truckloads of these wipes, since Gabe stocked us up, so we're going through them all before we can buy some decent name-brand ones. I think I used about 31 to do a hack-job clean-up trying to avoid giving her a bath since I was saving that for after the Dr appt later today when Macy has to get shots :( Even 31 wipes couldn't avoid it, though, and 30 min later I'm done with that diaper change and my princess is sleeping soundly with a clean, dry bum. :)
Break in
Just finished talking to the Whatcom County Police Department. Gabe left this morning and came back in to tell me his car had been broken into. Unbelievable. We live in a nice neighborhood and I feel very safe here... then, this! The sort-of funny part is, the car they broke into was a '96 Toyota Tercel that has been broken into before and has many problems. :) Gabe uses it to commute to Anacortes for work, and keeps nothing in there and leaves it unlocked at all times. There was no mistake someone had been in there, though. Even his backgammon board was open and gone through. SO IRRITATING.
I would have taken a picture, but Gabe had my camera packed for the road trip he's taking today! He saw this show a couple weeks ago about the best 10 burger places in America, and realized the best looking one was at a place called "Big Juds" in Boise, ID, which just happened to be the closest to us. He enlisted his friend Tyler to go with him and try it out! They are off, all excited for the burger they will eat tonight. He took my camera to document it all! I'll post pictures when he gets home tomorrow night. I tell you, my man is dedicated!
